I was trying to tweak my Thompson drive, it's now able to read some DVD-R and son CD-RW, but i can not get it to read different DVD-R brand, my other Thompson is fine without tweaking. The value of my tweaking is ~1040ohm ... but i read on the turtor that you need to get it up to 180ohm or so and other said something arround 1975ohm .... with the value, my thompson won't read anything ...

Anybody have another value for sugestion?

Thanks

c if it will read cd's stil at the normal reading. if it wont, then u did the same mistake i made a while back, if u tweak it too far it wont be able to read anything anymore it damages the laser and u'll need a new dvd drive

thats only if it wont read them at all with any setting or origonal

I had best results at 950-975 ohms on a couple of thomsons - if it's not working there, best bet is to start looking for another drive...

Great to know that i'm not alone on this tweak ... anyhow, some of my DVD do work with the 1850 ohm setting but i guess I will try to lower down below 100ohm (between 800ohm - 1050ohm) and try again ... any other working value?
