If i send file to and from my xbox with a hub hardwired they send at about 4mb/s which is about right, but whenever i hook the xbox up to the WET11 wireless bridge, the transfer speeds are very low (around 100-500kbs).

Theoretically it should send at the same speed, shouldn't it? Anybody have any ideas how to fix this problem?

Well, the Wireless and Ethernet are two different specifications. Ethernet is either 10 or 100mb full or half duplex. So, in theory, ethernet will be 10mb, 20mb, 100mb, or 200mb. Wireless, for this device, is 11mb max. It depends on the signal strength. The weeker the signal the slower the speed. So, depending on how many walls, distance, etc, it could be transfering at 11mb, 5.5mb, 2mb, or 1mb.

yeah, that's the strange thing. it's only about 15-20 ft from the router with only 1 wall between, with my wirelss laptop in the same spot, it's 85-90% signal strength.

Could there be any setting within the router itself that could be causing this?

you could try changing settings but i've yet to see any wireless transfer for 802.11b get to 4-5mb/s. You can mess with the channel to see if you can avoid interference from other things on the 2.4ghz spectrum. Change the basic rates and TX rates... there aren't too many to mess with.
