For testing out xlinkd I came up with a quick tool that will send UDP test packets back and forth between two computers to make sure there's a clear path through gateways/firewalls. You can specify the port (34518 and 34519 are used in XLink, 34518 only in xlinkd) so it's fairly versatile and I figured I would post it in case someone found it useful. It's in CVS, as well as a binary and source here:

Useful.. Sort of like xtest - but tests comms between 2 clients as opposed to a client and the xserver ... could help the ppl who seem only to be able to play some others - not all... (isp probs i expect)..
