I installed a new X2.2pro and now when i boot the xbox it just flashes orange. So I removed the chip and left just the header pins installed I looked around the base of the pins and i made sure nothing was shorting out. Even with the modchip out it won't boot now. It just flashes orange and does nothing. Plus when it powers on i have to unplug the power to turn it off.

Thanks for any suggestions

Is it a refurbished system. They somtimes have electrical probs. Did you make sure you plugged your cooling fan back in?

The fans are plugged in and do turn on.

It could possibly be a damaged tracer or a bridge somewhere.

the seems to be the general consensus however I have as of yet been unable to locate any solder splashes or breaks. If i do find one however what is the best method for repair a tracer break ? Just putting a bit of solder on it ? as long as it isn't multilayer ?.

I have no clue. If that is the problem, which it could be, I would just buy a new motherboard.

You can find them everywhere on ebay. I think that would be a good way to go.
