Is a 2.5 or 2.6 Ghz versioni of this chip pretty fast and will it play games well with 512Kb memory and an ati 9600 with 64 Mb memory?
I was gonna get a notebook with the amd 64 but it is just too thick and heavy soI was looiking at one with the pentium 4m which is a half an inch thinner and about 4 pounds lighter.

|IVe looked into homebrew laptops and from other peoples thoughts and some stuff Ive found on the net, a homebrew laptop is nearly impossable|
It isn't cost effective, either... much unlike making your own Desktop PC, where the reverse is true. You can pick up a decent Centrino laptop for $700... any cheaper and you're getting a P2... not worth it.
EDIT: Sorry, clairification, it IS very possible, but the price of the HDD, media reader, and whatnot far outweigh the price of buying it whole.

I know clock speed isnt everything but seeing as these chips are made by the same company how could there reallly be so much difference?
