I recently saw a few posts asking about how hard it is to get 5.1 out of your xbox. I noticed this while looking around linky and thought it might help some people. Monster is usually pretty good about making good audio stuff and for $130 if you don't need 5.1 from anything but the xbox it looks like a nice start.

Inteclink also makes a 5.1 setup like this but I don't think it's on the market yet.

Hope that helps someone

The High Def AV pack and the Advanced AV pack both have an optical output, so all you need is a reciever, some speakers and you can enjoy 5.1 surround. Not all games support it, but newer games do. If you want to do it the cheap way, there is a thread at Xboxhacker.net about how to do it with an Advanced AV pack, it requires some soldering, but it didn't look that hard.

From my own experience with 5.1 gaming, its really sweet, playing Halo in 5.1 adds a new element to the game.
