Ritek is said to be the best for reliability. Not too many complaints about them. Princos seem to have a lot of messages about how they suck, so keep that in mind.

Yes, I have done this many times. I had a bunch of Princos that I transfered over to Ritek and games that would either freeze up or not play on Princo, now work 100% on Ritek. Just make sure you take care of the Princos/memorex so that they can be in good enough condition to do the transfer. Riteks are definitely the way to go. About the same price as memorexs and infinitely better in terms of compatibility and bootup/loading times.

In my case they weren't

I have a Plextor PX-708A.
At first I used Princo's but my XBox (Philips drive) wouldn't read the damn disks.
Burned several but the XBox kept telling there was no disc inserted.

Now I use Traxdata (Ritek G04 dye) and they work perfect. I burn them at 2 speed and till now I have no misses. The XBox read all the disks.

I would say go for Ritek (or DVD's with a Ritek dye)
