OK yea everybody laugh at a noob. Yes, I have read and read and read.
First time at everything. I have chipped and flashed and burned Slayers latest.
I am trying to ftp to box for HDD backup but the slayers auto I burned , I did not edit evo.ini (IP 0000). So now I used xiso and extracted evo.ini into notepad (xp) and made my edit but how do I get the file back into slayers, it is in txt extension?
Or is there a better way of backing up.

Thanks

You can change the IP address through EVOX dashboard just goto system settings and edit it.

i think hes trying to boot off a slayers disc in which case he cant save his changes like that.....not sure what the question is though...its not a .txt file you already said what it was, its an .ini file

Simple:

What's happening is that when you save in Notepad the default extension is .txt, so change that Save as type: dropdown box to All files and then name it evox.ini or better yet just take one of the ones you've already saved and rename it to evox.ini, it'll be fine.

I did that but xiso will not let me replace the evo.ini file because now after I edit the file size is different?

Thanks

You'll need to burn a new slayers disc with the modified evox.ini file.

and don't use xiso, use craxtion or simplexiso - they are much more reliable.

use craxtion or simplex to extract the entire iso. then change the file to what you need. remeber to save as .ini not .txt. Then use craxtion or simplex to create the xiso and reburn it.

That shoudl work.

Thanks
