Ok, i got the xdk and xbmc built fine. I installed it by the directions that came with xbmc. When i boot the xbox, everthing is fine. Then i go to launch xbmc from evox. It launches ok, but as soon as it is launched, it freezes uhh.gif does anyone have any suggestions on this?

**btw** i've already tried deleting the UDATA-TDATA/0face008. That doens't help. When i reboot the xbox after deleting them, the files simply reload themselves. Is the even normal?

thanks in advance smile.gif

Nope, i tried using XBMC with and without the ethernet cable plugged in. I've also tried recompiling it a few times. Nothing seems to work. What is strange though, is that there is an orange pumpkin spinnin at the top right of the screen. That shows i suppose that is not compleatly frozen. And i can perform an IGR to get back to the main dash. Would having IGR enabled have anything to do with it?

nope, i can't imagine IGR has got something to do with that.

hmm. if it doesn't freeze but just keeps on loading, then there probably is something wrong with the config file. - but i can't imagine what it could be. huh.gif

Check you have all the skin files loaded correctly.

Also check your XBoxMediaCentre.xml file (Use the default one if necessary)

Also: You do NOT need to delete any files when trying out a new version - the files in the TDATA directories are loaded in fine (and regenerated if they are not present) in the new versions.

Yep XBMC crashes if nno files in 0face008 were present, but this is fixed now.

Hm, well i got the latest cvs release, compiled it and ftped it to the xbox. I started up XBMC and it was still frozen, except now after about a minute, the xbox turns off. This really isn't an improvement over the last version. At least before it would not turn off. Any ideas? sad.gif

You likely have an out of date XDK. MS changed some of the controller definitions in the latest XDK which means that the controller does not function properly. Version 5788 should be OK.

You patched the compiled xbe from "debug" to "retail" (maybe your bios don't like debug xbes).
