Ive been using the same matrix modchip now for close to a year without problems. what happened i was trying to flash my chip in the xbox itself to a newer bios and it stuck midway in the process so i had no choice but to turn it off and put it back on. When i turned it back on though, everything was screwed up obviously and the xbox went to the error 16 display screen. I tried putting a evox cd in there, still wouldn't recognize it.. so i took out the modchip and am trying to use it with the original programmer ..problem is now it gives me an error saying "error erasing chip" so im stuck as to what option should i go to now.

I have the matrix in mode 4 with both swtiches turned to off as well as i have tried it in mode 1 with no luck ..
any help guys ?

Admittidly, I don't know much about the Matrix chips/programmers. But I assume it is powered by a 9V battery. Make sure the battery is new. Also make sure your jumpers are set to allow erasing.
