I have some DVD+R discs that I recorded quite a few avis, ogms, etc to a while ago. Now I know that the xbox can't read them, so I want to share my PC's DVD-ROM drive and access those discs that way. However when I try that xbmp always has that share being empty. Am I missing something?

I have set this up and found it only works if there is a disks in the PC CD-ROM drive . . .

ccxstream -l 192.168.1.2 -S mymusic=d:\stream\music -S videos=d:\stream\videos -S pictures=d:\stream\pictures -S mypccd=e:\

<share>
<name>Network (XBMSP) PC CD</name>
<url>xbmsp://192.168.1.2/mypccd</url>
<cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

* when sharing CD-ROM drive all shares only work if disk is present in the CD-ROM drive

Hope this helps wink.gif

Hmm. No good. Actually realized to use ccxtest, with no luck.
With a DVD+R in the J: drive:

D:ccxstream>d:ccxstreamccxstream -S gdrive=g: -S idrive=i: dvd=j: dvdrw=k:

then in a separate DOS window:
D:ccxstream>ccxtest
Connecting to xbmsp://localhost:1400/
1) gdrive
2) idrive
3) shares.bat
4) ccxstream.exe
5) xbmsp-xml.txt
6) xbmsp.txt
7) TODO
8) README-CYGWIN
9) README
10) cygwin1.dll
11) COPYRIGHT
12) ChangeLog
13) ccxtest.exe

Okay, odd thing. It works if I'm at the prompt of the DVD drive when I run it:

J:>d:ccxstreamccxstream -S gdrive=g: -S idrive=i: dvd=j: dvdrw=k:

D:ccxstream>ccxtest
Connecting to xbmsp://localhost:1400/
1) gdrive
2) idrive
Followed by the list of files on my DVD.

You know what? I just realized that this second test ccxtest didn't list the ccxstream files. I think for some reason it's insisting on sharing the "current" path. Doesn't help when I wanted to share both j: and k:

Oh, geez. Well there's a lesson for ya: Don't trust ccxstream to give you an "invalid syntax" error. Just noticed that I forgot the -S before the two DVD drive mounts. Oops.

Anyway, I see what you mean now about there needing to be a disc in the drive. At least it seems that I can change discs after mounting.
