use DVD2XBOX and then use XBMC to watch the VOB (the dvd file format).
but what you might want to do is take te extracted dvds, then put them on your comp, and make them divx movies. the files will be much smaller.

there is a tut here somewhwere but i am too lazy to find it right now. basiccly you just extract the dvd with DVD2XBOX, then I think you decode the files, then you use Dr Divx to make then into divx files then transer the divx movie back to the xbox

This question is asked a lot. DVD2XBOX will not rip the movie into one file. It will save your DVD into vob files. If you want to save the movie into one file, this will require a few tasks and a lot of time. I dont really think its worth it, but a lot of people ask so I point them to DVDRHELP.com. This site has all the info you need to rip your dvd's into avi mpg and all that good stuff. They have lots of tutorials, apps and a forum. Anymore questions about this should be asked there.

yeah itsame is right, it takes about 20 hours total for me to fully rip a dvd movie. The encoding is a slow, ram hoging process that tkaes what seems like forever, because you cant really use your comp while its going
