I have my soderless chameleon up and running. However, i often have to open my case when i start the xbox and press on the chip in order to have it register and not receive the stupid error message. I was just wondering why i might have to apply the pressure to this and if there is a quick fix to the problem. I have tried readjusting the chip and soderless adaptor several times to no prevail... I also find myself tightening the adaptor very very tight to the xbox, so tight as to having jammed 2 of the pogo pins so far, which i had to replace... Does anyone know a quick fix for this problem and where to buy more pogo pins?

Does this mean that the reason it works when i press down on it is simply because the soderless adaptor is not getting a good connection with the xbox?

Yeah, that's a good guess. The solderless chameleon connection is a bit flaky - it's only anchored in one point. Make sure you screw it down tight (but not too tight!) and center it well.

it works without the gold lpc insert things. I think they are just a pain in the butt.

My chameleon works excellent and I think that your connections are not completely clean.
Cause I have never had that problem, I also like that adaptor so good I adapted to a x2.3 lite check my tutorial in my signature

Mine didn't work without the throughhole pins / rivets ("gold lpc insert things"). I ended up blobbing solder into each hole. Have to do that carefully though - no shorts, and you want a flat surface at the end.

PS: isn't Requiem for a Dream a rather intense movie to use as a tagline?

When you guys take your xbox somewhere does the chip often unalign? It seems that it does this regularly for me and should be something expected... or is it just not properly aligned that it does this?
