no i am using a direct connection with a crossover cable

back in "the day," this would cause all kinds of network issues. It will work in a pinch, but latency and autonegotiation can be a little retarded without the use of a hub, switch, or router. What is the link speed on both ends? full duplex? where did the cable come from?

Using my full duplex 100 meg network here in my apartment, i get anywhere from 8MbPS to 11MbPS (yes, that's megabytes!).
