Does anyone know if a 160GB HD is enough for the following:

Complete NES rom set
Complete SNES rom set
Complete N64 rom set
Complete Genesis rom set
Complete Sega Master System rom set
Complete Game gear rom set
Complete Game boy and game boy advanced rom set
Complete Atari Lynx rom set
Complete Atari Jaguar
Complete Amiga rom set
Complete MAME rom set
Complete Neo Geo rom set
Complete Atari rom set (all versions)
Complete Virtual boy rom set
Complete Neo Geo Pocket rom set
Complete Activision rom set
Complete NEC rom set
Complete NEC laser disk rom set
Complete Colecovison rom set
Complete Commodor 64 and commodor 128 rom set
Complete Oddessy 2 rom set
Killer instinct 1 and 2
31 XBOX games on the HD (back up my collection on HD laugh.gif )
And any left over space for part of my HUGE mp3 collection.

I own all these actual games and the roms are just backups of my collection biggrin.gif and get tired of getting up to take the effort of placing the game or disk in the console. I'd rather scroll through XBOX's menu and play the game of choice.

Think I have enough room? If not, this HD is going right back to the store to make room for a bigger one. beerchug.gif

It probably wont be big enough. N64 ROMS are pretty big, and 31 XBOX games add up. Not to mention all the other stuff.

Cant yuo just store the roms you never use on some DVD's?
I'm sure you do not use half of what you have got.

I want to be able to play any game for any system at any given time though! Maybe I'll back up the N64 on DVD but I'll be damned if I don't have my Colecovision and Commodor 64 games at hand. *recalls the tough transition to Super Mario Bros when it first came out *Hmmm, I think its time to play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago, and then maybe kick a lil @ss in Halo on xbc. I need to get this stuff configured soon because I have basketball leagues next week.

why would you want to "back up" 31 games you have on DVD anyways? DVD=backup. Theres no possibe way you can play all those games anyways! Save some space for movies and XBMP!

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to fit all that stuff. I have a 160GB drive and with only 5 games on it so far and far less ROMs than you want, I have about 110gigs left. I know you cannot get a good deal on 250gigs, relative to 160 gigs, so I say just use the 160gig for all roms and fit your favorite games on whatever is left.

WTF????

N64 alone takes up 40 CDR

40x700 = 28gig
Amiga is around the same nowadays

you may just fit most of the emulator crap on, wont leave you with much free space though

may I ask where you're getting teh complete sets from?, are they the TOSEC sets?, or some of them GOOD sets?

Get them from MIRC. The are all complete sets. But I ran into another problem.....
How the HELL am I supposed to find time to paint my xbox when I'm too busy playing all these damn games???!?! I can understand soldering a mobo with one hand while playing my other xbox with the other...but the whole painting thing might get messy.
