I bought the WD1200BBRTL HDD and was hoping to replace the original ide cable with the one(ata/66)that comes with the new HDD.
But the primary connector(for HDD) and the secondary one(for DVD Rom) are so close together that it seems impossible to use this cable.
I don't know how you guys doing it.Do I have to buy another ide cable?

The whole cable is 18" long, but the primary connector from the secondary is only 6".Way too short to connect to the HDD and DVD Rom.

I read in other forums that the cable should be "uncut" or something like that.I'm not sure exactly what they meant.

Is the original cable damaged? You will not gain any speed by using a 80 pin conductor cable.

The Xbox does not use Ultra ATA 66/100/133. The cable will not help any. If its damaged I can see replacing it.
