Hi guys, ok i am very n00b when it comes to the internals of the xbox, but i have two quesions... blink.gif
1) when i turn on my xbox, the power light is amber and on screen it tells me to contact "customer service" is this because of a faulty solder job?! is there a quick fix?
2) how do i find out what modchip i'm using? all i know is that when my xbox 'used' to work it would load up evolutionX

is there anyone that can help? it would be well appresiated
Thanx

wink.gif it would help more if you tell the error code on the top left of the screen.

#1 : could be anything , bad solder , corrupted dashboard files , deleted evox.xbe , ect.

#2 : Open the XBox and compare with mods pics

take the case off, and see if there is a way to disable the chip, try removing te dvd/hard drive and boot it and see if the error changes... *shrugs*

16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)

err your dashboard files might be fucked up.

sst? hmm. can u post a pic of it? it may be a home brew chip.

try resoldering those wires and see what you get. your chip looks like it's a homebrew chip mod.

well i searched a bit, and it seems you have an OZX Chip (it has the same SST that i saw on the pics from these two links. OZXChip 1.3 and the OZXchip 1.2)

not sure which one u have, but look carefully and se if u can determine which one u have, then try fixing it
