Hi,

My Xecuter OS is screwed up, so I can't read any menu from Xbox. I want to transfer xmediaplayer and evox.ini file back to xbox.
Since I can't even access to Xboxplorer, I am connecting my PC to Xbox through cross over cable. Now the problem is that I do not know IP and gateway # of Xbox. (someone else set up all these)
Is there a way or PCsoftware that find my xbox system info: IP and gateway??

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

you could plug it into a router if you have one and see what the router says...
or you could make a boot disk with known settings and just boot from that.

If you didn't change Evox's default settings your X-BOX should have

StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.100.10
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.100.1

If you setted up StaticIP = NO it should take IP address from a DHCP server (i.e. your router and you should see there what IP your XBOX has)

If you setted up another IP address you should know it :-) ... or at least know your PC's subnet: you can download a network IP scanner (something like "Solarwinds Ping Sweep") and scan your own network to see wich IP replies
