I just wanted to know what the default gateway means and what it is suppose to be relative to my network connection: meaning what is it the IP for? Right now my settings for evox: are as follows:

Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.100.1

are these alrite?

If you dont have a gateway/router, set it to 0.0.0.0. If you do, put it's IP address in there. I don't have one so I use the zeroes.

i'm not too sure what you're saying, but lemme break it down for you

If connected to a PC: most of the time, your default gateway will be 192.168.0.1
If connected to a router: go to these three different addresses on your computer, and see which one brings up a page (it should ask you to log in, depending on your router)

192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1

pick whichever one works as your default gateway.

if you have a second nic connected to your xbox and the other nic goes out to the internet then it would be best if you left your gateway blank. You can read the tut in my sig to see.
