I have an 80gb hard drive in my Xbox that I want to replace with a 120gb drive and put the 80gb drive in my computer.

Only problem is that my 80gb drive is completely full and I want to transfer all the data from it to the 120.

How would I go about doing this? My pcs current hard drive is only 15gb so I cant back it up to it.

My pc won't read a hard drive formatted for xbox, right? So I can't just format the drive for Xbox then stick both hard drives in my pc and copy the files? Or similarly, format the 120 and fxp all the files from my pc?

Thanks for any help. I've been driving myself crazy reading through all the tutorials and searching the forum.

1) Format 120GB and put in your computer
2) Dump everything on Xbox to 120GB via FTP (make nice folders if you want)
3) Take 80GB drive out of Xbox and put in PC (unlock it first)
4) Format 80GB drive on PC
5) Transfer data from 120GB to 80GB
6) Install 120GB in Xbox and format for Xbox (lock drive if you need to)
7) FTP everything over from the 80GB now on your computer.

Sucks but this will do it.

Actually took me a minute to map it all out in my head. My first inclination was that he's screwed.

Yeah, that's the way I felt lol. Gave me a headache thinking how I could do it.

Thanks for the help ChrisF. It even took me a minute to realize what you were saying would work.
