ok, i looked in the tuts and cant find a tut to take out the stock fan sad.gif

i cant search for it either b/c 'fan' is less than 4 characters and it just makes it error.

i think you just break the clips off or something but im still wiating to finishing dremeling the corners of the other fan. i want to get a good luck at how to do it before i do it b/c i dont want to break the clips and not have it go back in correctly before i get a chance to put the other fan it.

thanks for the help guys wink.gif

Just in case you didn't know....
The stock fan that comes with the xbox only runs at 20% speed by default. You can change this using XBTool to edit you bios to run at anything up to 100% (full 12v). I changed mine from 20% to 80% and now it runs 8-10 deg C cooler.
It makes a bit more noise, but you can't hear it during gameplay anyway.

i had trouble with this too but figured it out

there are 2 clamps at the bottom holding the fan in

these clamps have to be pulled AWAY from the fan... i had to pull em so far back they broke... then the fan was able to slide up and the top connectors popped out of the hole... i upgraded to an 80mm 74cfm blue led fan and had to hold it in with zip ties so i didn't need those clamps anyway
