hi all, still quite a newb, but getting better everyday. i am going to flash my xbit with the executer 4981.67 bios, and noticed when i open the bios in xbtool that it has a fan speed preset at 20%??? i am not sure what to put here. what do you pro's out there recommend? should i leave it at this setting, or change it. and if i do change it, what is a "safe" setting to set it to? thanks in advance for the help biggrin.gif

20 is the xbox's default. I have mine at 30. The higher you go, the cooler the xbox, but the there is more noise. Make a decision. wink.gif

it would certainly help...i have mine set at 50...but as far as i know there are no issues (except for noise) from having it wide open....but your xbox might start hovering on the desk haha

Question: I was going to do the 12V fan mod, but if I just change the fan speed, will that be just as good? It'd definetly be easier. wink.gif

i have an 80mm 72cfm fan i hooked up and have it at 100% with xbtool. that shit is so freakin loud! but my temps are always under 100 F (cpu sometimes gets to 105) and i just turn the surround up but it does sound like the a/c is on wink.gif i have another bios with 50% and it is a lot quieter but my temps get into the 110 range so i deal iwth the extra noise

12v fan mod puts it at 100% all the time so xbtool wouldn't have any effect on the fan
