I just got the X2 lite today and just installed it but when I start it up it says under hda "1. detect FAILED, error=4"

it still says Please Insert CD - Flashing Mode but when I put in the OZXFlash cd nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok I figured out that I messed up the IDE cable for the cd drive so I switched it from an extra I had in my computer, I also found out that my philips drive wont read the brand of CDRW I have so I put my PC cd-rom drive on the xbox but now when I put in the OZXFlash cd it says:

"BootideWriteAtapiData Error BEFORE writing date (0x51 bytes) err=0x800"

then it says

No Bios Update Found...Halting!

1.you should use a dvd drive assigned to the xbox, not a cd drive.
2.if your dvd drive wouldn`t read the media, try others, such as verbatim or anyway try any other.
3. there`s a topic about which media goes to which dvd drive.

At first I used EvoX bios and the bar went all the way and turned off but I turned it on and it still asked for a disk so I put in the Xectuter bios. Im not sure if the EvoX bios are the ones installed or not but I didnt think that was important if I get EvoX installed.

I have to go to work but before I go: (assuming youve got xecuter 2.3)

1.look at the left side of the xbox is there a blue light?

yes (cont to question 2)
no (THE CHIP IS INCORRECTLY INSTALLED)

2.does the switch light?

red (chip is off)
green (chip is on)

3.make sure that you flashed your bios on bank 2, try bank 1

4. install?

pin header (check the chip covers all the pins)
wire install (re-check connection points)

5.does it make a difference changing the switch

yes (D0 connection is ok)
no (failed do connection)

CHECK ALL THAT I'LL HAVE A LOOK AT WORK AND HELP IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBS!

(didnt wanna make a new topic about my same problem)

I checked all that stuff resoldered the D0 point about 3 times and still shows no difference between Bank 1 and Bank 2, I went ahead and tried to burn Slayers but still it says "Your xbox cant recognize this disc..."

I must be doing something wrong that I dont know of...

Just found out I had a thompson drive, does that matter?
