Hey guys, im totally new to modding so bare with me.

ok im purchasing an X-Bit Modchip.
Im gonna flash it with EvoX.
should i flash the original bios to the bank with all switches off?
*note i am going to be using xbox live*
if i have all of the switches off, does that mean the modchip is off?

2nd. I wanna upgrade to an 80 gig.
how many games can i save to that hard drive?

What is EvoX M7? is that just the way you name it?
One more thing.. what format do u have to put the evoX file in?
is it just a regular file or do u have to have it in evox.xbe...or somethin like that?

thanks again,
its a big help

Dude - you need to understand the basics before you start this modding project.

I think you might be getting the bios and dashboard confused.

EvoX M7 is a bios that is flashed to your chip. However since you want to use XBLive, I suggest you use the X2-4981 bios - it will disable XBLive when the modchip is in use, so you won't get banned.

The Evolution dashboard (which goes onto your HD and is loaded after the bios has booted) should be named 'evoxdash.xbe'.

There are many tutorials around. I suggest you go read the Beginners Guides here: http://www.xbox-scen...m/tutorials.php

think you have got a bit mixed up dude..

your xbit will come blank

you will need a bios to play usigned code.. (evox m7,xecutor)

you flash the chip with the 256k m7 bios.. its a .bin file

set the dips to what i said above

thats yor chip sorted..

the bit your on about is the dash

if i was you i would use the slayers cd (google for it!!)

it will set the dash up for you and you will be able to ftp into your box and make a backup of your system (eeprom, original dash etc...)

and thats it you got your chip ready and your dash sorted!!

This may sound like a stupid question, but if i use the xecuter bios, will i still be able to use the EvoX Dashboard? And whats the difference in the xecuter and EvoX bios'

lol.. yep of course u can ..

What u really need to do is a lot of reading up on the basics!!

just put the executor bios in the same place on your xbit as i have marked evox m7..
