Hey I am about to paint and modify my Xbox and want to know what you think of my ideas. I live in Vancouver Canada and I love my country, so I have decided to paint my Xbox similar to the Canadian flag.

First I am going to remove the Xbox's "Gem" and mod it to be red instead of green, hopefully I can replace it without damaging anyhthing smile.gif. Next all the porous black plastic or the big "X"(Porous Plastic=Rough & Dull Plastic) will be painted with Classic White and then when all painting has been done I will spray on a shinny finish coat. All the smooth shinny plastic (On left, right, top, and bottum of big "X") will be painted Guards Red and it also will have a shinny finish coat applied. I am going to replace the power LEDs with either red or bright white LEDs, whats your opinion? The result will be an Xbox similar to the Canadian flag with a red Gem in ths center instead of a maple leaf. Thats about it for the appearance mods.

I am not going to install any mod-chips simply because I do not want to buy another xbox for playing on Xbox Live. I am going to try and quite my Xbox down by replacing the GPU and exhaust fans with quiter ones, this will match Canada's cold and quite climate, even though its not that cold and quite here in Vancouver tongue.gif.

Also if I can get my hands on an uncut ATA/100 cable from any of many local computer shops I will install it.

What about that metal shielding on the top part of my Xbox, does it have to be there for sure, or can I just nuke it?

What do you think, hanks for reading.

I don't think you'll run in to too many troubles removing the metal sheilding from the top. PCs run happily in pieces on a desk, the Xbox will live without a bit of shielding. smile.gif
