i just soldered the mod chip on, all the connections look good. the xbox boots normally with the mod chip off. if i turn it on the xbox just turns on, off then on off then on and frags. the blue lights on the x2.3b lights up and the front lights on the switch turn on

i am using an x2.3b and a v1.1 xbox.

the cd tray will not eject

Sounds like you either have to switch bios banks to boot cromwell, or there is no bios on the chip. Flash the chip and all should be good.

There is no usb power adapter with the b.

I think it has to be one of two things:

1) There is no bios on the chip - If this is the case you either need a programmer or hotswap it (you need a second modified xbox and is rather risky in my opinion)

2) Connections are bad - Recheck your connection, especially d0 and ground, and look for solder splatter, bad connection, something....

Other than that, I don't know....
