wel, we've developed a couple of apps to aid us in extracting the contents of the olk. we are now trying to determine the file formates of these extracted segments (which is hard to do since the filenames were stripped by namco =/)

once again, if anyone wants to help we'd love to hear your input. the tools are available in our sc2 forums on ninjahacker.net

Cypher you are without a doubt the man. Are there any tools in existence from older namco game hacking that may help, or could be adapted to help restore the filenames? This can't be the first time Namco has done this in their games...there's gotta be something out there that's been used before to restore / erase the filenames / structure. Think Namco custom designed an app that would do that? Or I dunno...could it have been done w/ the XDK?

actually scdc used olnk files similar to sc2 ones

no, i don't think there are any namco hacking utilites released online. they're being made right now

Cool...can't wait to hear more, I'm gonna brainstorm w/ a software developer friend of mine...maybe we can come up with something to help, he's familiar with protection schemes like that. We worked on a little program for a while where I used to work, the program's different features called the class ids of files instead of the filenames themselves...I dunno if that would help, but I will ask to see if he has any tricks up his sleeves, if thats even along the same lines as what you guys are doing, you guys rule...you all will nail sc2 sooner than later, take it easy.

You guys are awsome. I was thinking, often when programs are developed, they are programmed larger than needed and then scaled down. I wonder if Link from the GC and the guy from Tekken on PS2 are in the code somewhere to be unlocked? That would be awsome if they are!!!

cypher ripped hihachi's move set from the ps2 and reinjected them into the xbox under spawn!!! there is a video on his site ninjahacker.net... somewhere in the forums
