I am looking for a post made in the past 3 days... yeah I know that could be thousands..... however it was pertaining to unlocking a hard drive thru the means of booting with the xbox then switching it, with correct timing. I didn't have the opportunity to read the post in it's entirerty and wanted to do so.

I have searched using key words such as hard drive, swapping, hot swap, and combinations of those with no avail. I have found some really good tips in others post relating to the topic and tips found in the pinned section.

My buddies locked 120 hd with his old data is a paper weight at the moment, and wanted to just move than data to his new working 300 gb hdd and before I have to use the eeprom.bin and hook my xbox close to my pc and use dos and a boot disc and all other run arounds wanted to at least read up on this method of "timing swap" Thanks to all that helps and to those that wanted to but couldn't for whatever reason.

Don't know if it was bullshit or not, I will also check the garbage can.

When you say its a paperweight, whats the reason? Does it power up at all? Does it spin up but nothing works?

If either of these are the case you will have to find a hard drive resurrection specialist. Well technically they specialize in retrieving data from dead drives, but the issue at hand is that they are extremely expensive. If the drive is truly dead, then you may need to cut ties with the data and start over.

Also, if you do a hot swap without the proper enclosures, then you should be ready for the potential of the 300 gb HD to go corrupt.

fireflier what??? oh well... yes I understand this was the incorrect forum.......

Ametrican Demon by paper weight I mean that it boots up, the data nor the drive is corrupted, he didn't unlock his 120 before throwing in the 300 giger. He wanted me to move the data on the 120 over to the 300. Yes I have the eeprom to the old xbox in fact I have both hard drives and both cases. Before I attempted to desolder the eeprom from xbox1 to the second and totally fuck it up beyond repair I wanted to at least attempted something that sounded more my speed, with the timing switch on boot up or what ever that post was about.

I at least learned something from this, Read the post when they are made or copy and paste in a doc file if I can't read it right away. Thanks for the help and replies to all.
