I am also interested in doing this mod, but I can't seem to find any tutorials on it.

One question, by doing this mod, you forfeit the use of any light guns, racing wheels, or dancepads since you need to cut the yellow wire from each controller port?

check out the tutorials pages on here, there is a way of doin this without messing with the yellow wire, u use the controller port surround for ground, isolate it from the xbox caseing, and when the controller is plugged in, the controller port surround recieves ground an the light comes on....good old twisted found this lot out! what a clever chap!
