Got a v1.0 that frags, no audio/video.

Is it even possible to replace the chip?

its possible to replace by stealing off another motherboard and soldering on yours, but the problem is most likley not the chip but a flash gone bad.

You're going to need some very specialized, and not to mention expensive, equipment to desolder and solder a new MCPX chip to your motherboard. You'd be better off purchasing a new mobo.
