Wow i just put a blue led in my controller dongle mannn that was hard! lol i my soldierng skills arnt that good maybe thats y but it took me 2 hours lol.
a tip for someone is to take your time it took me 2 controller dongles to make this work lol. dont be in a rush like me.

Holy sh*t! 2 hours for a single dongle! I did all 4 in 45 min when I was LEARNING to solder!

lol that hurt blink.gif well i tried but the resistor was being gay and wouldnt fit so i smashed that mother DOWN

If your not that quick, you're right, you're not meant to soldier, you'll be shot. SOLDERING on the other hand... that just requires practice.
Tip: Put the resistor on the led and bend the leads into shape BEFORE soldering the led/resistor into place.

ok lol thatfs what i did wrong lol i soldierd the resistor to the led then tried getting it in there and crap. then on the other leg it wouldnt reach so i soldierd a wire from other leg to the black wire lol its soooo sloppy but hey it works beerchug.gif

lol ya i just grabbed some scissors and smashed it hard on the side did it on the left side and hte right then pried it open lol

i had really good luck doing these with 3mm led's. very clean work and my dongles don't look chewed up at all. the more you do the better you will get. altho it helps that i've been soldering for many years.

Me 2 3mm leds worked great 5 mm would be a challenge.... lol It takes me around 5-6 minutes to do.

lol yeah, it also helps to buy a soldering "helping hands" station. the thing with the posable arms with aligator clips on the ends. i still have to, i end up taping things in place sometimes so i can solder them. lol

a challenge is fitting one of those big resistors and a 5mm led in there its pretty tight

Yes 1/2 watt resistors can be a pain in the ass since they are so much bigger lol

Once I get the dongle open it takes me max 3 or 4 minutes to finish the job laugh.gif
