After flashing executer 4977 to bank 2 the system went off, when turned back on it is very unstable, it studders to start on and off about 3 time then stays on with red flashing lite and will not read boot disk. Any sugestions.

If I turn on with chip disable I get xbox dash and ready to start.

Thanks.

4977 bios only supports up to v1.3 xbox - I guess that you have a 1.4/1.5?
You need at least 4979 for the latest console versions (4983 bios is the latest).

I have the same chip and my xbox has done this same thing to me many many many times. I run 4981, BTW. But, the cause of my problem was the chip not being seated correctly. Turns out the screw has a way of workin itself loose if you dont get it in there tight enough to start with. So all I did was tighten it up and get it in the right spot. This may not be your problem (probably isnt), but just thought Id let you know just in case you hadn't thought of it.

Thanks everyone, I'm tempted to think liked Strud. All was well untill the flash and all went wrong.

There is nothing on bank 1, at least not that I put in but it will not let me flash it. You know the on and off thing.

Thanks again.
