Hi friends. biggrin.gif

I have an old IBM 40GB 7200rpm harddrive in my PC but I'd like to move it to my XBOX and put it to some good use. I have never, dealing with my PC, had any problems with IBM harddrives. Rather the opposite, but I've heard that it heats up.

So, what brand works the best with the XBOX and do I need to get another harddrive? Is 5400 rpm okay?

Regards,
Mikael.

5400rpm is fine, actually all the retail hd's are 5400, also the 40gig ibm will do fine, it will heat up alittle more being as though it's a 7200rpm drive but it won't heat up to fuck up your box, it just gets alittle warmer than usual drives, nothin serious. mod away biggrin.gif

me too! I inserted a IBM deskstar 7200 ATA 100 40GB in my box and it didn't cause any problems. Only that I'm getting short of free space right about now... thinking of putting a 120 gig inside instead.

IBM GXP60's and GXP75's are prone to dying. IBM lost their HDD reputation on those models.
If you have one of these models, and plan on putting irreplaceable stuff on there, I'd look for a diffrent brand.
