It seems these Samsung 120GB UDMA/100 5400RPM IDE Hard Drives are the cheapest 120GB hard Drives around. (around $120) Has anyone successfully used one inside a modded XBox?

(check pricewatch.com)

i have one in too, the main reason was that it's the only 2 platter 5400 rpm on the market, which means it's the least heat you'll get from a hd.

Cool, thanks for the replys, After doing some research, I figured the 5400 rpm drive is perfect for the XBox. I couldn't imagine much of a performance increase with a 7200rpm drive. A 7200rpm drive would just be louder and produce more heat. I could swap out an 80pin IDE cable for the 40pin. That would speed up the access times on the samsung, but that mila-second issue is very debatable, and would deserve it's own thread on the forums.

OK, couldn't wait anymore........................

I ended ordered one today from www.esystor.com for $124.00. I found them as low as $109.00 on pricewatch, but the vendors did not check out so well with resellerratings.com
esystor had a lot of positive reviews so I went with them.

Once again, thanks to Wong Hung Lo, Sonar, and Madjo311 for there replys.
