I was wondering, if i made a matrix switch, could I tape the wires to the dip swicths and ground.

Or do I have to solder them

Could it short it out or something?

.....Ok people, let's try to be civil here rolleyes.gif

Yes, you could try taping the wires, but it really wouldn't be all that secure.
Soldering would form a much better bond and connection, but it sounds like you are afraid to try that.
If the wires did come disconnected from your "tape" job, they could theoretically touch another component on the board and short something out.
I wouldn't recommend tape.
Practice soldering, it's alot easier than you think. Use an old electronics board or device you no longer use, and you'll find that you get better at it.
