System:
Windows XP
1.7GHz Pent. 4
768 MB RAM
Geforce 2 64MB

Ok, I'm going to be as specific as I possibly can, and I pretty sure some of the geniouses in this forum can answer my questions. Well, it seems in the last past months all of my games have been freezing up. These include:Medal of Honor; Empire Earth; the Sims; and many others. I have done the following to solve the problem: Update all of my graphics card and CPU drivers; cancelled all unneccessary processes; stopped Norton Anti-Virus; Bumped AGP mem. up in my BIOS from 64 MB's to 256 MB's. Have you had any similar problems? If so, how did you solve them? BTW, my games aren't crashing, they are just simply stalling every 2 minutes in increasing frequency. Thanks for the help!

Could quite possibly be heat related. How hot does it get?

If EVERY game is locking up, regardless of the fact that it's DirectX or OpenGL and the drivers have been updated you will most probably find it's a hardware issue. I'm not saying definately, just most probably.

Hardware Sensors Monitor

There are lots of temperature monitor-type programs out there, but this is the best one I've used.

And double-check your CPU and video card fans, make sure they're still running OK.

Once, I'd be working on my PC, and it would start to respond slower, and slower, and would finally lock up. I'd reboot, and it would be OK for about half an hour or so, then do the same thing. Turns out that my CPU fan had stopped spinning. Replaced the fan, and all was well again...

Checked my CPU fan and its working. Funny thing, but right after I updated to Direct X 9 my computer is ultra slow.
