Yes read them all, I did a friends, took for ever, I wrote down what I did, and saved all files on my PC. did another friends and it took less than 25 min.

Edit: Here are my notes and some side notes as well, Not sure if all steps are entirely needed (bert and ernie and PBL (may just be needed for soft-mod(can some one verify that?)))***

1) connect points on mobo
2) Put MechassaultwithEvox\4d530017 on meme card
3) load "run linux" in mechassult
***4) FTP Bert.xtf and Ernie.xtf (reloaded) in your C:\font folder,
and rename the old files to Xbox.xft and Xbox Book.xft
(There is no need to rename Bert and Ernie)
***5) Hex edit xboxdash.xbe to look for bert and ernie
***6) copy all contents of "Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader_V1.3" to C:\
FTP NEW X2 biosto C:\BIOS (use correct size bios)
7) reboot xbox
8) flash Bios
9) reboot xbox
10) swap HDD (optional)
---------This is what I do------------
---you may just want to use X-disk or Slayer for the entire thing---
Run X-DIsk - use x-disk to format HDD only (can do via FTP)
copy latest avalanch
copy latest XBMC
copy latest dvd2xbox
copy dvdx2
Copy Emulators and roms
Copy Music

these are just my quick notes, READ THE TUT'S, all of them
hope this helps
