I only got a 40W iron.
Is there a big risk breaking something with this monster ?
The tip of the iron is about 2.5 mm ...
Anyone with experience please reply ASAP as i get the mod soon !

By the way .. the mod im about to install is a X-ecutor lite 2

Thanks in advance !

i suck at soldering, but that is way too big, you want like a 15 watt soldering iron, and a fine tip.
may i suggest a no solder chip for you so you don't ruin your xbox. just a suggestion, not a flame. beerchug.gif

Get a 15W iron, or keep $200 handy....
It's very easy to burn pads or traces with a big iron. You've been warned. blink.gif

Thanks for all replies !

I'll get a 15W solder iron instead ...
I guess it's ok to solder the LPC points with a 40W but the D0 is more a problem.

Better Get your Xbox to someone who can solder and give him 10 or 15 dolars

You can destroy almost anything easily with a 40W Iron... heck you can destroy most things in the XBOX with a 15W iron too if you don't know what you are doing.

The worst thing you can assume is that you are safe doing anything.... be careful, precaustious and alert when soldiering so you don't screw it up. Don't apply heat any longer than needed to do the job.
