You must be able to unpack 7z files. Either with
7zip or the latest WinRAR beta (www.rarlabs.com)

Ladies and gentlemen users of StepmaniaX v5.

It is with some personal pleasure and a little pride also, that I announce you that StepmaniaX now posesses a brand new theme!

Ported (or more backported, as from Stepmania Alpha21 to StepmaniaX/Stepmania Alpha7) by Katze88, author of the KatzeExtreme DanceDanceRevolutionEXTREME look-alike skin, this theme is the first-ever addition to the Xbox StepmaniaX extensions. Because of some filename limitations, of which Xport is well aware, we could not have a functionnal version out-of-the-box. As you all know, Xport is a prolific and terrific programmer, who ported many things - and frankly, he does it well. And the functions he may have overlooked have been in fact overlooked for a reason : Official Stepmania Compilance. Would have he broken compilance, some things may not have worked right.

As upper told, this is a DDR Extreme theme for StepmaniaX (Alpha 7) - and as stated, it will not work out of the box. Click on the StepmaniaX link at http://u62.terrestrialblasphemy.org to get access to a page where you will get to download the "StepmaniaX v5.01b Starter kit" ('cause we're still workin on it). BE AWARE THAT YOU NEED THE STEPMANIAXv5 files on your computer. This package contains a patch (aptly named patch.com) that will patch the "default.xbe" of StepmaniaX v5 to enable it to search, for this purpose, shorter filenames for the theme images some place else. We overcame the original limitation by Hex-Editing.

You do not have to absolutely install the "data" folder. I'd even recommend not. But you have to upload the contents of the "Theme" folder (KatzeExtreme folder). BUT DO NOT DELETE THE ORIGINAL THEME - as KatzeExtreme is still in development.

Thanks. Farewell!
