I honestly don't know the "real" answer to the dead guy in the car riddle.

That's part of the reason I posted it here smile.gif

Ok well then I guess I'll have to justify my previous post then =)

The only question being asked is "How do you know that the victim was shot from outstide the car?" (paraphrased). It's not asking how he was shot, or what the underlying circumstances are, or how he got there, etc. Just simply, how do you know that the victim was shot from outside the car and not from inside?

The answer is in the riddle itself. There is no gun or means of firing a bullet in the car. If there was no gun in the car, or no means of firing a bullet in the car, then the action that led to the person being shot had to be OUTSIDE the car.. and there's your answer =).

Get it?

i think the hat answer is incorect...doesn'tmake sense

Then let me explain...

Think about the guy right at the back who can see two people in front of him (but not all 3 because of the wall in the way). If this guy saw that the two people in front of him had the SAME colour hat on, he could immediately shout out the colour he had - it would be the opposite. But, he doesn't, because one of them has white and the other has black.

So the guy in front of him thinks: "hmm..he hasn't shouted out straight away, so i must have a different colour hat to the guy in front of me". So he knows now what colour hat he's wearing - it's the opposite of the guy in front of him.
