If I have dial-up connection, would it be possible to connect my xbox to my computer without a whole lot of lag while gaming? And if my 2 computers are localy networked, do I need to buy a hub to connect my xbox to my pc or can i just use my local networking box?

Well what is your "local networking box"?

It's probably a hub/router and if thats the case your xbox will connect right to it.

I wouldn't recommend 56k for xbox live. I really wouldnt at all. pay the extra 12 bucks a month and get DSL. And if you're feeling ambitious, pay 10 bucks more than that and get a cable modem.

You wont regret it.
