I've installed, unsuccessfully, a aladdin advance +, into my v1.4 XBOX.

Using a pogo head adapter thing, all the points *seem* to be wired in correctly, and the d0 is wired to a ground point (on one of the screw bases).

When the d0 is wired to ground, the xbox just FRAG. With it off, and the modchip in, it just runs like normal.

I didn't wire in the BT, L1 and L2, because from what i've seen, they are optional, and I don't *really* need to use the XBL service. Are they actually optional wires, or am I just making things up?

Thanks in advance.

The wires are optional if you wired the Xbox D0 to ground. Your D0 is working as the xbox frags with it connected. Your problem is down to the installation of the LPC points i.e the pinheader. Re0do the soldering on this and check everything carefully with a magnifying glass after to make sure all is ok and no solder splashes etc.
