Hi all. I've tried searching and found no answers so i hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I've just recently bought an xbox from someone. They told me that its modded to be able to play any games without restrictions. Reading about all the mod chips have gotten me interested in doing more with my xbox but before i procced, i believe i need to know what is installed first which brings me to my question.

Is there an easy way to determine what kind of chip i have installed?(please remember i'm a noob at this) thanks.

Open the xbox and see if it has a brand or something.

Aight did this guy that sold you the xbox tell you that he already modded it or r u trying to mod your xbox now by ur self? If you r doing it by ur self you need to buy a mod chip first.Well you need to find out what version Xbox you have you can searchXbox Scene for that. The standard Xenium or Xecuter modchips are fine. You then use the trusty tutorials Modchip Tutorial. Then that you get you started.

I'm pretty sure he bought a modded Xbox. Open it up and look and see, you also might have gotten a soft mod (no modchip). Open it up and take a looksee

if it says MICROS0FT when it boots up then its softmoded
and there is no need to open it...
any thing else it could be a modchip or TSOP flash
and if you realy want to know open it

No, that only means it using an EvoX bios, as only the X2 bioses say "Xecuter2" underneath. M7 and M8 still say MS, so no clue there.
Got to open the box... wink.gif
