I have ltools loaded on the hd of the xbox. I can tricker it with a game save exploit. I used the MA exploit. I load up the ltools package by selecting "Run Linux" in the campaign menu. Ltools loads up the various things it loads, most importantly an FTP server is initiated. I have a laptop that has internet access through a wireless cardbus adapter, which gets the signal from a wireless router. Also, I have my laptop and xbox connected with a cat-5 crossover cable(25 ft. - Belkin). I read Mr. Robinson's FAQ about networking and still couldn't FTP into my xbox to put the update.xbe into the correct folder. For some reason, I couldn't zip the update.xbe file with the package because my memory card didn't have enough space so I have to do it this way. I'm not sure what to do. Here is my ipconfig /all:

C:\Documents and Settings\Justin>ipconfig /all

Windows IP Configuration

Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : granger
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DWL-G650 Adapter #2
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0D-88-AC-84-65
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.101
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Friday, August 06, 2004 3:24:19 PM
Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Friday, August 13, 2004 3:24:19 PM

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0B-DB-E6-37-84
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

C:\Documents and Settings\Justin>

Now the FAQ says to post the settings from the evox.ini file as well so here that is:

[Network]

SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SkipIfNoLink = No
SetupDelay = 0

[FTP]

Enable = Yes
Password = xbox
IGR = No

[Telnet]

Enable = Yes

Now, when ltools loads up and initiates an FTP server, it doesn't load up evox at all. I looked into the game save hack zip file on my laptop's hard drive and found mxm.xml in the folder 62D648EBF155 of the game save hack. I believe it uses that mxm.xml file to start up the FTP server so I opened that up to check the settings and here is what I found:

<Config>
-
<Main>
<DiscTitle>Media X Menu</DiscTitle>
<LoadSkin>defaultskin</LoadSkin>
</Main>
-
<Network>
<UseDHCP>FALSE</UseDHCP>
<IP>192.168.0.3</IP>
<DefaultGateway>192.168.0.1</DefaultGateway>
<SubNetMask>255.255.255.0</SubNetMask>
</Network>

I don't really know what to make of all this, but I would guess I have to have the DHCP enabled(an uneducated guess). Hopefully, somebody can help me out. If you need anymore info just let me know.

Actually, setting look pretty good except you might try leaving the default gateway blank on the xbox configurations as well. Sometimes this resolves issues with evox anyways, I don't know about mxm. Can you ping your xbox? type "ping 192.168.0.3" in the same place you got your Windows IP info.
If you can't get ftp working with mxm, you might try a different gamesave that uses simple evox.. Wouldn't have the option to install ude diectly, but it doesn't fit on your mem card anyways.

You gave good details...
do this to fix:
For the wired connection, change its IP to look like this,
escription . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0B-DB-E6-37-84
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Note that the new IP uses a 1 NOT a 0.

And now in the mxm.xml make it look like this:

<Network>
<UseDHCP>FALSE</UseDHCP>
<IP>192.168.1.3</IP>
<DefaultGateway>0.0.0.0</DefaultGateway>
<SubNetMask>255.255.255.0</SubNetMask>
</Network>

then use your computer and try ftp to 192.168.1.3

For my evox dash to work, I would have to put the numbers you gave me for mxm file into my evox.ini file, correct?
