I have recently got a Pioneer A04 and I've been hearing all these people talking about all the firmwares for it such as no region and 2x4ALL. There are versions 1.20 up to 1.33 or even 1.40.
Which one is the best?? I am not planning to burn at 2x on 1x media, only 2x on 2x media. Which firmware will give me the best writing quality/best compatibility to 2x medias? I currently have the official 1.20 firmware.
Thanks in advance

As far as stock firmwares go, 1.31 is generally perceived as the best one available. It is the version I am running and I have no problems with Ritek and Princo DVD-Rs and Optodisc DVD-RWs.

(all burnt at 1x although the 1.31 Pioneer firware will let you burn Riteks at 2x but YMMV.

Another vote for 1.31. I do however burn Riteks at 2x and haven't had any problems so far smile.gif

I have version 1.3 and have made quite a few coasters.
Anybody know where I can get 1.31? I can't find it.
