Hi,
I don't think it is a big deal, you can just configure it to call another DVD player. The only downside to that is that XBMC isnt running ftp, etc in the background while watching the DVD. Personally I don't find it to be a problem.

Regards,
Greg

What on earth do you mean??
XBMC IS a DVD player, which has been developed with substancial effort. If you want to call a different player, you can just run the other player to begin with. And what does ftp have to do with anything?

CODE

<!-- fill in path&filename of external DVD player-->
<!-- if empty, XBMC will play any DVD's by itself-->
 <dvdplayer></dvdplayer>

It is already a option in the xboxmediacemter.xml to call an external player...

Hes saying its no big deal it cant make use of the menus. And if need be you can load another program from xbmc automatically to have menus. Especially usefull if you use XBMC as a dashbaord.

As for the ftp thing, if you launch another program you lose the ftp which he likes, thats all hes saying.
