Hey Guys,
My friend modded my xbox and set it up last weekend. I am just hooking up the xbox directly from the PC. I use a crossover cable and how one network card. So everytime I have to change the tcp/ip settings. I set them to 198.168.0.2 and then use 255.255.255.0 for the line below that. I went through the entire faq on how to get this working but it just wont. My xbox settings are 198.168.0.3 for the IP and I made sure it was a static IP.
Heres the error I keep getting on FlashFXP:
[R] Connecting to XBOX -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21 (attempt # 3)
[R] Connection failed (No route to Host)

I then did the ipconfig /all as the Faq suggests:
Windows IP Configuration

Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : chris
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

I also pinged the local host:
C:\Documents and Settings\Pac>ping localhost

Pinging chris [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

The faq said to post here if all this didnt get it working. If you guys could help me out that would be incredible. Please let me know if you need anymore info for me. And I know the crossover cable is good because my friend used it when he set it all up.
Thanks so much!

Can you try to ping your xbox? verify the crossover is good and post the network section of your evox.ini.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for taking the time to help me out,
I already tried pinging the xbox and it didn't work. I am almost certain the crossover cable is fine because it worked when my friend set everything up.

Heres the network section:
Type: Static
IP: 192.168.0.3
Line Status: 100/Full Duplex
Ethernet MAC Adress: 00:50:F2:48:CD:0D
Setup Network: Yes
Use Static IP: Yes
IP: 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: Blank
DNS: 0.0.0.0
DNS: 0.0.0.0
Setup Delay: 0
Skip Setup If No Link: No

Thanks again!

I don't see a problem here...
unless you have a firewall that is blocking it or that cable or your nic is bad... but all your settings are fine.

would flashing my bios help with anything? I just saw that on the menu options on evox so I was just curious if that could possibly help at all
Thanks

I am having a similar problem. I have the same settings as xboxfahlife. However, I can ping my xbox, but only when it comes up with the "DNS NOT FOUND" error screen after trying to connect. Wondered if xboxfahlife could duplicate this and if so, does it help anyone figure out this problem.

Maybe try reinstalling the driver for your nic...
