after installing an xenium soderless chip set.
i really had know idea what i was doing.
so i unlocked the hdd from the xenium menu.
now all i ever get from the xbox is a 05 unlocked error.
i also never flashed the bios at all.
i have been looking for a way to fix this problem but all of them require
that the xbox be premoded to find the key.
help!

I don't know anything about mod chips but if you disabled locking on your harddrive without writing down the key, I think your probably out of a harddrive. I heard that some mod chips don't require the harddrive to be locked, though.

No, you can always lock your HD with a modchip installed - the xbox generates its own HD password, you don't need to have it written anywhere to relock.

It is the bios, not the modchip, that decides if you need a locked HD. Basically, the retail bios requires a locked HD and a hacked bios (like X2 or EvoX) do not require the HD to be locked.

Your problem is easy to fix. Either re-lock the HD using the Xenium OS (which will allow you to boot the retail bios) or just flash a hacked bios and boot with it unlocked.

i got exactly the same problem. but the xenium os doesn't seem to boot up anymore. if it did, then lockin the HDD wouldnt be a problem.
