Hi, have modded 5 boxes with ude 2 the last days..
They have all worked fine..

This box:
(XboX Kernel 5838, PAL, V1.6)

Used MA to connect to the box..
Installed ltools and made a backup, copied the backup to my pc.
Changed region to 1 with a telnet connection (Config Magic only says "INVALID XBOX VERSION SPECIFIED"), made a new backup and copied it to my pc.
Installed UDE2 with EvoX and everything worked fine..

My problem:

I wanted to uppgrade the HD and copied the eeprom.bin -file to a chipped box.
When trying to load the new eeprom.bin -file into the eprom on the chip box Config Magic says "EEPROM ENCRYPTED REGION INVALID".

"This is probebly beacause I changed the region" I thought..
So I changed back the region to 4 on the new box and made a new backup and transfered this eeprom.bin -file to the chip-box..SAME THING HAPPENS..
Config Magic says "EEPROM ENCRYPTED REGION INVALID".
This time it is region 4...(As It was from default..)
WHat is wrong..?
And YES, I saved over the original eeprom.bin whith my second backup..
If I perhaps copied ltools to the chip-box.., is there perhas a way to load the eeprom.bin through Mini-Linux??
Or is there another way??

The new box with UDE2 works fine with the original HD..

Pleaze Help, ..
(Sorry for the bad english)..

i have the same pb, someone tell reply on my post that configmagic doesn't work on v1.6.
To replace the hdd, i copied c: & e: on my pc, created on a modded xbox the new hdd and restore c: & e: on it, after that i think that the last step is to lock the new hdd with the hdd password given in backup but it don't work....
HDD Key : ba17df4b0cca62185aa07a884ac9b364
HDD Locking Password : 241be51ce8bd61fda7900d6ade58b7176db32692
given by ude2 when i typed xtool -a
so i lock the new hdd with the HDD Locking Password but don't work
waht was wrong ?

If you have access to a chipped-xbox there is a way..
Make a backup of your eeprom.bin to your pc.
Connect the chip-box, copy the eeprom.bin -file to the configmagic\data\ -directory.
Replace the old eeprom.bin if there is one..

Start configmagic on the chip box.

Follow these steps:

a. Unlock HDD
b. Load EEPROM from .BIN file
{Notice the Unique HDD Key now listed... it should be different. If it's not different, the eeprom.bin from the original-BOX was not properly transferred to the CHIPBOX}
c. Update XBOX EEPROM
d. Load XBOX EEPROM
e. Lock HDD

Now insert the new HD into the chip box.
Use Slayers autoinstaller 2.5 to format the hd and the install the MS Dashboard.
Run configmagic with the new HD installed in the chip-box and lock the HD.
Now U can replace the small HD in your 1.6box with the new bigger HD.
This haved worked for me..

My problem is that I changed the region before I transfered the eeprom.bin -file to the chipped XboX.

God Luck..

configmagic does not support 1.6 EEPROM, it has nothing to do with region.

either use ldot's xboxhdm tools or you have to use my tools(well the same linux program basically) that can encrypt/decrypt 1.6 EEPROM and doing the lock/unlock.

Hi..
I have read the tutorial for ltools but can not find any command that lets me uppdate my eeprom with my bin-file..

Do U perhaps know what to write ( command line) to uppdate the eeprom through ltools??

Also suffering the same problem.

Jeppe99's suggestion is not a possible solution, as he did not fully read the problem.

Did a search on google for XboxHDM 1.9 and found a cached link to the straight download, since I could not find it on Xbins. Going to try that and see what happens...

Let me know if you solve it, anyone.

I submitted Config Magic sources that had 1.6 support added to it to Iriez. It has been passed on to the original Config Magic authors to verify and / or fix any bugs. Look forward to be seeing a new Config Magic "final+" release or whatever the hell they want to call it, soon.

That's excellent news!

Devz3ro, do you know of any other way we can easily do this in the meantime, without running linux?
