Well I kept myself busy this weekend, painting, dremeling, and wiring. Thanks to all of those who have put together wonderful tutorials. Let me know what you think, first painting mod. I also installed the wireless doorbell, and put the wireless controller component inside the box.

Holy fuck could you please tell me what you did for that window? I am trying to do a window now and I used a saw, and I thought it was decent until I saw your window and now it looks unsmooth and shitty compared to yours.

Did you read a tutorial for that, or just went on guesses or something?? Could you take a picture of your dremel lol, or maybe just give me the specs, that's so smooth.

For the plexiglass, you just cut out a square and what, glued it to the underside of the top of the Xbox?

Please help! My window looks like crap I gotta make it slicker.

Edit: Also the DVD drive! What's that white thing? Don't you have to keep the dvd drive top middle intact to keep the dvd spinning properly.

Looks great. Only thing I would suggest would be to trim the DVD-Rom's metal piece of metal (the part that is visible through the window).

That's easily fixable! Go to target and get a Dremel, $37. Comes with all teh shit you need. Use a 1/32" cutting disc for the plexi and the case. Then get any corners with the grinding tool adn the rest with a smooth sanding tool. Easy as anything.

Thanks man, it didn't take a whole lot actually. I'm not the greatest with a dremel but a little patience will go a long way. Basically because the xbox is plastic it cuts pretty easily. I cut it with a rotary saw bit (almost looks like a drill bit) and then I used the drum sander part to smooth it out along with some 320 grit sand paper on the small rough parts. As for the white thing, it's the magnetic circle that holds down the disk. It just happens to be a tad bigger on the philips drive it seems. As for the window itself, I just used a CD case that I cut out pretty close in size and hot glued it in. I didn't have time to run to home depot!

Thanks, I plan on trimming it some more, I just need to get some more dremel bits. I just wanted to get it all back together until payday, lol. The military really should pay more!

Alright thanks dude, sorry for bombarding you with questions btw, I was just kind of in the same thing as you, I decided this weekend to just mod my Xbox for the very first time in my life.

Here's the window, I don't want to go off topic or anything so I am going to link it so you can ignore it if you feel like it, or tell me how to fix it,but it's your thread, and good job once again.

Yeah, the DVD Window does look weird, like it's crooked or something. but other then that pretty good for a noob. biggrin.gif Good Job.

Goes to show ya, with some research, time and the proper tools you can do things with out even asking.
